About the Seemingly Ubiquitous Hatred of AI
I have noticed a lot of hate going around in comments on social media on AI generated videos or art. There's even the new term "clanker" which has gotten pretty popular.
Maybe it's a couple things that it can be attributed to. For one, it's new and people generally don't adjust to new things or big changes well. Second, some of the most popular sci-fi media from modern times focus on AI/robots overtaking humans and wiping them out entirely. So I imagine fear is another factor.
I recall initially having that sort of perspective, but I don't believe it's really justified.
Generally, AI generated media (up to now) is the result of a human; from the source material to the prompt. Other popular "regular" human-made media, which could also be considered slop, doesn't seem to receive the same level of contempt though. Both can be about as equally creatively void.
Even if AI would eventually become advanced enough to replace humans, I doubt that people would give them the proper opportunity to do so anytime soon.
Anyway, I don't really have any single concrete point to make here.
